Correct me if I'm wrong - when the auction closes, offerers get in touch with the top bidder(s) to arrange delivery of offer? Meanwhile, winning bidder(s) donate their money immediately?

Sorry for hassling you... is it okay to offer non-self-made things for auction? (I don't bake, but I do live in Japan, and for a previous auction I offered a box of storebought Japanese sweets, and was thinking of doing so again.)

I was wondering, too.

I have a couple of books and similar here... (but am not in Japan).

Also, is it okay to have a delay set for creative works? (As an example, I have exams coming up => "will work on this after xx/o3/2011" is ok?)

LukeW August 22nd, 20114:15 pm@Meketrefe go to Facebook. Type someone's name in the serach box at the top of the screen. That's illegal in a good number of countries?@Mike your strike 2 & 3 are valid development points and should be in place. I agreeStrike 1, I disagree is any different than a site with serach that includes user names. Most sites even have APIs for looking up user names. (also see my comment above. nice & AJAXified on facebook as well). @ Craig, three comments from Twitter discussion on this topic that are applicable to your points: in security-related UI, perceptions (and misperceptions) matter even more than in regular UI. lots of fear & misinfo out there. -@jreffell to be fair security UI concerns are valid because the user perceives them, not because the designer's logic refutes them. -@jaysondb I'd say that many designs have created artificial/wrong security perceptions. See password field and keylogging. -@lukew i agree with you both! also see: password rules that make you work hard but don't really add security -@jreffell@zeldman fair point on people using text-expander utilities that's a consideration worth looking into. Also password managers like 1password don't do very well with anything but a standard login box (3rd party sign, serach UI (like Bagcheck, Google email login, etc.)

It is perfectly acceptable, please post in the appropriate category, mention that you didn't make it, and, adjust the price accordingly.

Cheers!

rabmal May 6th, 2011 4:14 am The question mark symbol next to the password (use for forgot password) is a nice idea and very useful. It avoid the clutter of the form.Nice article..

Is there going to be any kind of set "due date" for offers to be completed?

That is to be worked out between the offerer and winning bidder, as some offerers have assorted commitments that could delay completion.

A few months ago, pepole who play World of Warcraft went through a similar run-in with Facebook. They were planning to force everyone who used the official forums to have ther real full name signed to the posts, and since there's already a feed for each character detailing what they were doing at any given time, it would have been blatantly unsafe. The forums there tend to be volatile, but the community reaction against this and WoW's integration with Facebook was bigger than any response there, ever. So big that 'RealID' was indeed aborted, but the privacy dodginess goes on.To see it happen there, then to see it here is massively unsettling. Anonymity on the internet no longer seems to be in fashion; it's not in Facebook's (and others) commercial interest to allow it to be.Great post, thank you. :)

rickinnocalNovember 12, 2011If you do not pay your child srpoput arrears out of money that you receive, you are committing a whole new crime, and will quite rightly be convicted and imprisoned. Will child srpoput enforcement catch the account quickly enough to stop you cashing the check? Maybe, maybe not. Will they find out about it afterward if they don't? 100% certain. They WILL then proceed against you. There is no more despicable low-life in being than a father who tries to cheat his children out of their srpoput, so you will truly deserve all you get.Richard

I certainly can unrasdtend, as an actor, one needs to keep the character being portrayed as it's written in the screenplay. Reading the books might lead to confusion, such as Tara's character is a white gal who owns a clothing store. I've enjoyed Tara in True Blood without needing them to be exactly alike, but I don't think I could do that if I were portraying Tara.

pass on this 18 game schedule, I dont see it as hienlpg the game. but cutting short the careers of some of our finest players, running backs more than likely.we need to protect the players more, not put them more as risk. While the average players career is 3-5 years, I just cant see where an 18 game season isgood for anybody involved. Maybe more should be done to help the Vets that builded the NFL to what it is today, but neither side is talking about that?Bottom line the NFL is nothing with us ,, you can take that to the bank NFL!All you/us fans need to have a platform to speak out, and this is a good start! So god~dell pack the greed up and get to work for a FAIR agreement, I get idea that you should be working for the Fan because without you are nothing.I rest my/our case.GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONINERSBasil a big 9ers fan & a big NFL fan ,, but not a fan of greed
